Welcome to the Storytelling Bible

Throughout history oral story telling was used to pass down history, knowledge, and wisdom. These stories connect with us in ways that other media cannot.

A couple of years ago, our pastor wanted to try something a little different on Sunday evenings.

The goal was to have different people tell a Bible story either as a narrative, acting it out. Then we’d break into small groups to discuss the story. At the end, someone from the group was to retell the story, and hopefully everyone would have an opportunity through the coming week to tell the story to another person.

We did that process for a couple of years, and I loved the ability to act out and tell a narrative story. I loved being able to discuss what we had just watched.

I wanted to continue with that idea here.

I understand that different people learn and remember differently. So why not incorporate a different way to learn the stories from the Bible.

We’re including some questions to think and talk about, so you can use these stories in a Sunday School or Small Group setting. Maybe it’s just you and your family. Maybe its a couple of families getting together.

I have found that I’ve learned so much from these stories as I dig deeper into them, preparing them for recording. It is my desire that you can learn from these as well.
